Art Submission Guidelines

We want your school planner to look its absolute best and we want to help you avoid any delay in production that may be caused by submitting poor or unusable artwork. The following guidelines are designed to help you get the best reproduction of your artwork and photographs. If you have any questions, please contact us at

ELECTRONIC SUBMISSION
  • It is very important that you use the page numbers provided by www.schoolplanners.com. You can also download templates from our web site.

  • We like to receive PDF files; that way, you are guaranteed that there are no page or margin shifts.

  • Use only Helvetica, times or arial fonts in your Microsoft Word template if you do not have the ability to send your handbook pages as a PDF.

  • We cannot use Publisher, PowerPoint or Works files.

  • Convert artwork and photographs to grayscale.

  • You should proof your material several times before sending to schoolplanners.com. There will be extra charges if we have to make changes and it can also delay production time.

  • Email all finished handbook pages to: info@schoolplanners.com. Make sure that all emails are identified clearly with your school name, city and state. We will always confirm receipt of all emailed handbook pages. if you do not receive the confirmation, please call 1-800-390-2129 to check and see if the material was received. Please do not fax copy due to quality and page layout.

  • Orders with handbook pages are not processed until all material is received. Handbook pages are NOT available on Teacher or Gen1, Gen2 Planners.

  • Original artwork, drawings or photos - black and white or color.
  • Emailed files and scanned images must be at minimum resolution of 300 dpi. Please do not include images from websites as they are generally only 72 dpi and reproduce very poorly when printed.
  • Black and white laser print for line art only (not acceptable for grayscale art or photographs).
  • What Exactly is Line Art?
    Line art refers to graphics (or) text composed of black against a white background. Line art cannot contain any shades of gray.

  • Inkjet or laser printout of photos or grayscale graphics. We will get much better results using your original file.
  • Photocopies of photos or graphics.
  • Pencil or crayon drawings.
  • Artwork attached with paper clips, staples, or tape, which can damage art.
  • Artwork that is disproportionate. Templates are shown on Cover/Handbook Page Guidelines and are available for download on that page.
  • Negative transparencies or art larger than 8.5" x 11".
  • Native files such as Quark, Pagemaker, Word or Publisher. We may not be able to open your file, resulting in production delays.
  • Tips On Artwork
    TIP: For files sent on disk, your order will be processed more quickly if you:
  • Do not include extra files on your disk.
  • Name the files in such a way that it is obvious where each image belongs.
  • Include printout of each image marked with its file name and "proof only" so we know how the file should look when printed.
